Bill Bodine

Bill Bodine is a globally recognized financial consultant and investment advisor. As Chairman of The Investment Advisory Group since 1989, he has provided professional services to a wide range of major clients domestically and abroad including foreign governments, major financial institutions and significant private groups. Previous responsibilities include Group Head/Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, Global Head of Investment Research at Citicorp (1981 to 1985) and Senior Advisor to the Spinnaker Fund (1986 to 1987), a private equity fund of the Rockefeller Family.Professionally, Mr. Bodine has been a leader of the profession worldwide and also taught capital market courses at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford. His pioneering work in disciplined asset management is documented in a Case Study at Harvard Business School. He also has been a Chartered Investment Counselor, a CFA Instructor & Examiner and a Registered Investment Advisor in the U.S. He authored “Quants Gone Wild – The Subprime Crisis”which has been included in finance courses taught at The London School of Economics. He graduated with Honors (Atwater Kent Prize) from UCLA and matriculated at Harvard Business School.

Tony Barkan

Tony Barkan, a financial services executive with over 30 years of experience in commodities, fixed income, and real estate markets, is continually seeking new opportunities to provide investors with opportunities to generate compelling returns. Having worked at such notable companies as Lehman Brothers, Man Group, Goldman Sachs, Salomon Brothers, Forstmann-Leff, and Pareto Partners, Mr. Barkan’s career has progressed from operations analyst through senior trader to senior portfolio manager and investment committee member to now Founder and CEO running investment management businesses. Most recently, Mr. Barkan is the Founder and Managing Principal of Allagash Partners, an investment firm which, through various subsidiaries, builds and manages real estate debt and equity investment products and portfolios for institutional and high net worth clients. In this role, Mr. Barkan serves as the CEO and directs both investments and operations for both Allagash Opportunity Zone Partners (“AOZP”) and Allagash Vetrify Partners (“AVP”). Prior to founding Allagash Partners, from 2008-2015, Mr. Barkan was one of five Founding Principals and Investment Committee Members at Seer Capital Management. At Seer, Mr. Barkan developed and ran a uniquely successful TALF Fund, planned and executed a working-class housing rehabilitation and rental strategy growing that portfolio to 1,000 units in the Southeastern U.S., and initiated, developed, and ran a B-Piece investment strategy that approved loans backing over $20 billion of US Commercial Real Estate properties. Mr. Barkan has built and led investment, research, trading, operations, and risk management teams with as many as 50 people. He has managed portfolios across the full range of fixed income and real estate sectors with peak assets over $10 Billion, and peak total market exposure of over $20 Billion. During his career, Mr. Barkan is noted for using mortgage derivatives and indexes to migrate his portfolios to 100% short in advance of the financial crisis. He also notably created both hedged and long-only portfolios that worked to optimize returns after the market meltdown from 1999-2001 and during the 2009-2015 post-crisis recovery. Mr. Barkan graduated from Princeton University where he was selected to the Honor Committee, ran the semi-annual blood drive, and played football (briefly). Mr. Barkan is a member of the Triple Nine Society.

Lou Cohen

Lou Cohen has spent over 40 years on Wall Street beginning as a commercial banker at Bankers Trust in 1978.  This was followed by stints as a fixed income credit analyst and credit manager at firms including Shearson, Drexel Burnham, and Paine Webber.  In 1991 Lou joined the buy side with Dan Roberts’ fixed income group at UBS Asset Management in New York.  The team was ultimately lifted out of UBS in 1997 and from that point Lou co-led an effort that built AUM from zero to more than 50B USD, the vast majority of this growth being achieved after the team began building the Global Fixed Income Group at MacKay Shields in 2004.  The team’s client base consisted predominantly of public and corporate retirement funds, as well as a number of award-winning fixed income mutual funds in both the US and Europe.  Lou’s day to day responsibilities were focused mainly on running the team’s multi-sector and investment grade corporate portfolios as well as chairing the GFI Credit Committee.  Lou served as a past president of the Capital Markets Credit Analyst Society and during his career has lectured extensively on investment and economic topics at various investor conferences and universities. Lou holds a BA and MBA from New York University, a CFA charter, and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Haynes

John Haynes is the Co-Founder of Penna, Powers, Brian & Haynes and was the firm’s Managing Partner from 1986 to 2012. The firm became a nationally known firm and won the industry’s prestigious Silver Anvil Award. Prior to forming the firm, John was Senior Account Supervisor & New Business Pitch Team Member at J. Walter Thompson from 1983 to 1986. Since 2013, John has served as Director of Admissions & Enrollment at LDS Business College until his retirement in 2019. Mr. Haynes earned his B.A. Degree from the University of Utah and his Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in Mass Communications and Media Studies. He is recognized for his creativity, skills and experience as a digital marketing strategist. He has also served on the Board of the American Cancer Society.

A legendary marketing veteran and former President of Fidelity Investments, Chuck Jarvie has served in senior executive positions with some of the biggest companies in the world. Mr. Jarvie is Founding Board Advisor of The Coltala Group. He has been Managing Partner of Procter Partners, Inc., since 1990. Mr. Jarvie's expertise derived from many years of executive management and experience has helped generate, implement and enforce strategic plans for many successful turnarounds. Mr. Jarvie was a Partner of Beta Capital Group, LLC since 2001. After twenty years with Procter and Gamble Company from 1959 to 1979, Mr. Jarvie served as President of Dr. Pepper Company from 1980 to 1983 and President of Fidelity Investments Marketing Company where he helped build the firm’s worldwide business from 1983 to 1984, He was also Chief Executive Officer of Schenley Industries, Inc. from 1984 to 1988. He served as Chief Executive Officer of New Era Beverage Company from 1990 to 1992 and President/Partner of Host Communications, Inc. from 1992 to 2000. Mr. Jarvie is a graduate of Cornell University where he received both his B.S. and M.B.A.

Hiro Myauchi

Hiro Miyachi is a senior financial executive with deep experience in Asia and the U.S. at major financial institutions including J.P. Morgan in Tokyo and as Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of ORIX USA Investment Management, Inc. where he built a leveraged finance portfolio starting from zero to $2.5 Billion. Mr. Miyauchi also played a pivotal roll in the structuring, marketing, and management of a $547 million CBO “Astron”, which outperformed 90% of the CBO’s consummated in the same period while his new operation broke even in just three years. In previous years, Mr. Miyauchi headed HVB Asia’s Tokyo Office as Managing Director where he headed private equity investments and high yield/restructuring business. He was also responsible for the securitization business and M&A advisory business including managing 15 professionals in origination, structuring, and financial advisory services. In recent years, Mr. Miyauchi has served as President of Blackbird North America, Inc. and President of the Japanese subsidiary of Clear-Market Holdings, Inc. a company providing electronic trading platforms for financial and crypto derivatives. Currently, he is the Managing Partner of Prime Advisory LLC which advises Japanese corporations on their M&A and financing projects. Mr. Miyauchi holds a B.A. Degree in International Finance from The University of Tokyo.

Ted Pendleton

Ted Pendleton’s experience includes scaling and monetizing early stage and growth companies across the globe spanning financial services, insurance, telecommunications, and horizontal Enterprise technology solutions.  Global expansion experience includes EMEA, APAC and Americas.  His focus on mass distribution and channel growth, as well as regionalization to fit local cultures, results in high-growth revenues and market brand dominance.  During his tenure as head of Business Development with AlphaPoint, the leading cryptocurrency and digital asset exchange provider, Ted hired and managed the sales team, structured the channels and distribution program, closed customers in over 30 countries around the world, and grew revenues 20x over 18 months, during which time the company raised $15m in venture capital.  As President of Sybenetix, a UK-based behavioral analytics trade surveillance company, Ted opened and managed the US offices for Sybenetix, driving sales while assisting in a capital raise, resulting in the sale of Sybenetix to NASDAQ.  For over 10 years, Ted was employed with Numerix, where he drove explosive growth and strategic initiatives for the company.  As Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Ted supported the overall company expansion objectives through strategic acquisitions of other companies.  He used his extensive knowledge of the industry and its ecosystem of customers and vendors to acquire companies that inorganically scale Numerix’s revenue growth, product capabilities, and personnel talent.  Ted’s deep expertise enables him to identify emerging trends, pioneer new markets and seize opportunity for M&A actions at the optimal time.  In his prior role as Senior Vice President of Global Business Development from 2005 to 2012, Ted founded and grew Numerix's Global Business Development program from regional headquarters in New York, London and Singapore.  In this leadership role, Mr. Pendleton leveraged his extensive experience as a market practitioner to drive recurring revenue growth via strategic distribution deals.  During his tenure in this role, overall partner channel revenue grew from 4% to 51% of the company’s overall revenue. He established and oversaw the firm’s 90 partnerships, which include relationships with some of the world’s largest trading and risk systems, data vendors, valuation service organizations, value added resellers and auditors – including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Misys, Northern Trust, Microsoft, IBM, Sapient, and Ernst and Young. In addition to closing major revenue deals that resulted in explosive customer growth, Mr. Pendleton worked to establish a new products and business verticals, thus increasing addressable markets nearly 10x.  Prior to joining Numerix in 2005, Ted founded, grew and sold his own company within the high-tech telecoms space, and an enterprise class ASP during the .com boom.  Mr. Pendleton holds a Masters and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Brown University.

Bob Philipson

Bob Phillipson is recognized as a developer of foreign business through detailed knowledge and understanding of foreign governments, personalities, and cultures. Uniquely, he is a due-diligence specialist with deep experience also in quality control, compliance issues, counterfeit, and e-commerce to insure maximum corporate benefit. Mr. Phillipson also has proven sales skills with over 18 years of overseas experience in addition to his US activities. In particular, he has extensive experience as a licensing executive, brand manager, and program director who met goals through leadership, communication, and persuasion. He is problem solver with exceptional interpersonal skills. Special strengths include written and oral presentation, imagination, and extensive and varied experience in developing political, economic, and military knowledge. In addition to corporate positions as Senior Vice President of Cluett Peabody & Co. (International) with responsibilities for Asia and Latin America and as Chief Executive Officer of CSSI, he has also served in sensitive government positions including the Central Intelligence Agency as Co-Manager responsible for leading the mandated National Security Council Incident Response Team on counterterrorism. Also, Mr. Phillipson has served as the CIA’s Representativeto Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) for all Department of Defense issues in Latin America. In essence, Mr. Phillipson was responsible for insuring a flow of intelligence to the command and to act as the facilitator for a smooth interface between the Department of Defense and The Agency on issues relating to Latin America. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico.

Steve Hawes 2

Steve Hawes has spent the majority of his post- graduate career as an entrepreneur building, running and investing in start-up businesses focused on consumer products and consumer experience. His experience and holdings are in industries such as hospitality (hotels, restaurants, and real estate); media (radio stations and a media marketing enterprise responsible for the first Japanese informercials in Japan); packaging, consumer finance, software, and travel.  Regarding his restaurant holdings, Mr. Hawes was one of the largest Five Guy’s franchisees in the world at the time of his selling of the business.  In several of these experiences he assumed the role of CEO/COO and managed and grew the businesses until disposition.  Currently, he is the Founder and CEO of Go&Give, a business with the stated goal of helping foundations and other worthy causes raising over $1B through use of Go&Give’s travel platform. Prior to his years in business school, he was Regional Manager for WordPerfect Corp in New York City – or as he likes to call it, the only “real” job he has ever had.  Mr. Hawes holds a BA in English Literature from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.

While at Credit Suisse, Mr. McAvoy was a managing Director with roles as Global Head of Hedge Fund Coverage, Head of European Equity Capital Markets, and Co-Head of Global Convertible Securities.  He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Charleston Capital and as a member of the Board of Trustees for Wake Forest University.  He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and received an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
