Jess Hurwitz has spent most of his career leading and scaling technology businesses globally. A professional, serial entrepreneur, and solutionist with 30+ years of technology, innovation, transformation, strategy, commercialization, R&D, and strategic development experience built at individual contributor, team leader, and management/executive levels. Within the span of his career, Jess has worked with clients of all sizes, spanning six continents, and across many different industries including: commercial maritime/shipping, energy, logistics, transportation, freight, superyacht, insurance, legal, engineering, weather, television shopping, retail, manufacturing, distribution, technology (personal computer, hardware, enterprise technology, application development, tech/fintech, etc.), consumer electronics, semiconductor, consulting, automotive, and many more. Most recently Jess has focused his efforts consulting and advising projects and startups in the crypto / blockchain space and working with many young and emerging growth companies incorporating modern styles of management, structure, organization, and process.
Prior to joining CHAiNGE, Jess was a Director in the Technology and Risk Advisory Consulting Practice at Citrin Cooperman, a leading (Top 25) US professional services and full-service CPA firm from June of 2017 to June of 2018. He functioned as an executive advisor acting as a change agent and helping drive the adoption of innovation, transformation, automation, and alternate delivery models and services to clients of all types. He led and managed cross-functional project teams to deliver solutions focused on technology, security, compliance, and emerging trends (cryptocurrency, digital tokens, ICO/STO, blockchain, cybersecurity, automation, AI, and analytics). For the 12 years prior to Citrin Cooperman from August of 2005 to May of 2017, Jess was the Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Accuritas Global Solutions and FleetWeather Ocean Services which provided business intelligence, analytics, and bespoke data management services to 100+ clients from over 60 countries worldwide in the transportation, energy, maritime/shipping, freight, and logistics industries. Since June of 2018, Jess has provided consulting, advisory, research, strategy, and guidance to a variety of businesses, startups, projects, and financial advisory firms in the areas of crypto assets, digital token strategies, ICO/STO, blockchain, maritime services, and a variety of other key business processes. One such project was CHAiNGE, which he began working with as CTO in November of 2018.

Role:
To work directly with the CEO on all technology directives in support of the board, and overall mission and vision for the company and to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of the business.
Responsibilities:
1) Developing the company’s strategies for technology resources and ensuring alignment with the business goals, 2) Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably, and securely, 3) Evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure, 4) Providing leadership and guidance to the technology team (both internal and external resources), 5) Establish and maintain strategic relationships and technology partnerships, 6) Communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure technologies are used appropriately and in a quality manner, 7) Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage, 8) Build quality assurance and data protection processes, 9) Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology, 10) Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors, and 11) Employ operational excellence strategies and continuous improvement methodologies throughout our technology ecosystem.
